Corki's Corner

I would like to introduce to you, my new puppy, Fazoli Ferocious. Fazoli (nickname Fuzz), is a boxer mix mutt from the good people at ARFF.

Although no one will ever replace my dog, Corki, Fazoli has been a blessing and a new challenge. She was named Fazoli in honor Corki. When I traveled up north, Corki and I would stop on the way to eat., Her favorite place was a fast food Italian place. We would have a "Fazoli Picnic". It just seemed fitting to name the new dog with Corki's memory in mind.

Fazoli is certainly her own dog, with a distinct attitude of her own. She loves to go on runs with me, play in the garden and chew anything in site. Fazoli's favorite toy is a golf ball, on the kitchen floor at 2am in the morning. She has great potential to be a fine dog.

Susan Sidden Beats Her Husband!

Congratulations to Susan Sidden, who not only beat the heck out of her husband, Dave, on the golf course, but shot 78. At one point, Susan was three under par on the back nine. Way to go Susan! I am so very proud of how far you have come.

HOLE IN ONE!!!! Congratulations to Bob Turner. Not only did he improve his golf game, but this month, he had a hole in one. I was so excited when I got the voice mail he left on my cell phone that I cheered out loud. I am proud of Bob and his determination to continuously improve.

Susan Sidden had an EAGLE and a BIRDIE on the same day. Susan had just had a lesson on how to control her wedge distances. Not wasting any time, Susan holed out on a par five for a terrific eagle. She tied her talented husband, Dave, with a score in the low 80's. Be prepared to read the "headlines... Susan Sidden Beats Her Husband!" Coming soon........

Congratulations to Ralph P who achieved his goal of breaking 90! Great things are in story for Ralph in 2009 as well.

I have noticed over the years that sometimes, when a golfer is over the age of 60, they think, "My best golf has already been played...." I have a terrific student named Bob Turner who might have had similar thoughts in the past.

I told him during a lesson that his best golf was in front of him and to let me know when he broke 90. With a polite but disbelieving smile, he said he would let me know.

This week, he fired a 87, breaking his personal best and letting everyone know that regardless of your age, you can improve. He's too young to think about it now, but I hope I am around to see him break his age in the future.
